Everything was delicious! I had the BLT and Fries and my friend had a wedge Salad. The bartender was our waiter and he really took good care of us.

The bartender was above and beyond and welcoming. The aura of this place is very homely and loving. Good parking by train station. There’s a spot out back for smokers. Cute little spot, extremely clean bathroom. Need to explore more of this place next time I am in town.

Love this bar, great food, great people and happy times. Always smiles on draft at grandpas. Glenview institution for years. The appetizers are classic and they re steps from the metra for all those city folks/ out of glenview folks. If you are looking to set your whistle in glenview this is one of the best spots. Cheers folks!!!!!!

Great local watering hole. Good pub food as well. Cozy tavern atmosphere with down home local folks. Stop by Grandpa’s to cheer you up, fill you up,and beer you up. Plus they are steps from the metro and open late for Glenview. Don’t miss out on grandpas whether you’re from here or passing through. It’ll be like you always remember, grandpa never changes and that’s why we love him

Great place to meet up with friends! We sat on back patio early on them inside later. Patio was very relaxing and we had great service. Metra is right across the street so easy access, tho a bit loud during weekday rush hour. Adds to the small town charm tho. Inside was warm and inviting, tho there was definitely a 'smell' we noticed when entering. Super nice bar staff. Lots of fun! Those that ate had chicken kabob plate and said it was to die for.

This year I chose Grandpa’s place to host my company holiday outing- lets just say I got a big bonus! Kidding aside, it was the perfect space to celebrate! Our wishes for set up and decoration were accommodated! Festive lights were in place and a fantastic music selection set the perfect tone. The Chicken kabobs were a huge hit, amongst other restaurant staples, the Reuben, Burgers, and salads! Our Server/ Bartender Bill was very attentive, gave perfect suggestions and made our party feel special. We are already thinking of reasons to return- i think we found our place! Much thanks to the Grandpa’s staff♥️

Had my daughter’s college graduation party here last night. The party package pricing was very reasonable. Jesse the coordinator was very helpful and easy to work with. Charlie who was the bartender and director for the event made sure everything was handled according to our timeline. Everyone on staff did a wonderful job and our event was a success. We will definitely be back.

Open Mic Night - Free Live Music What a cool, old place with lovely wooden highlights. The building is BIG - with multiple event sites. For a cold Tuesday night we were pleased to find the place was buzzing! A Comedy Mic was downstairs, lots of diners were in the main floor dining room/bar area, and the upstairs Open Mic room was almost to capacity. It was winter but we were told the Open Mic event is outside in warmer weather. (Lots of patio areas were visible.) Order your food at the bar and they’ll bring it to you. We split a burger and fries. The musicians were varied - using guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica and more varieties of stringed instruments. Bob Dylan ruled the set list the night we were there but more than one artist performed original works. The hosts are pros. All mics and sound needs are handled excellently. Smooth and speedy set changes. The crowd was mostly very jolly artists supporting each other - making it a very welcoming, supportive, engaged audience. As first timers we enjoyed the event - but be forewarned - the wooden seats are hard and we left after two hours, not sure when the event was ending. 9:30 on a work night was late enough for us. The event was scheduled as beginning at 7:30 but because they started early we missed the first player. That was irritating. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommend.

Grandpa’s never disappoints! The fish and chips were absolutely great — perfectly crispy on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside, and not greasy at all. The portions were generous and everything tasted fresh. Friendly service and a classic, comfortable atmosphere make this a spot we’ll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend!

We held Mark Davis’ Celebration of Life at Grandpa’s Place, and I truly cannot say enough about how incredible they were during one of the most painful and stressful times for our family. Jessie (the manager) and Amy went completely above and beyond from start to finish. Jessie answered my texts at all hours, helped coordinate linens, and handled every single request we had with kindness and professionalism. Anything we thought of — she took care of it. When I ran into technical issues with our memorial video before the event, Jessie immediately connected me with her technical contact and made sure everything was up and running ahead of time so that on the day of the ceremony, we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We showed up, and everything was exactly as requested. We had 150 guests, the food was hot, the drinks were flowing, and no one was left waiting. The entire staff was attentive, compassionate, and organized throughout the event. Grandpa’s Place made an incredibly painful day so much easier for our family, and I am deeply grateful for the care they showed us. I would highly recommend them for any family gathering or large event. Thank you, Jessie, Amy, and the entire staff Vanessa B.
